In July, our family took the Trip of a Lifetime! So many memories – so much to share. These are just the highlights of our trip:
Like I said: “The trip of a Lifetime.”
But how will I organize all the photos and capture the memories? There are over 4, 700 pictures! That’s overwhelming!
During our trip, the pictures were copied to a laptop and to an external hard drive. I kept a daily journal to capture events as they happened.
Back home, I went through the pictures, selected the best ones and moved them to a special folder. I plan to make a photo book for the family with these pictures. I don’t want to lose these memories!
So how do I protect them and insure the photos won’t get lost or destroyed in a disaster?
They will be stored in my on-line storage at FOREVER. I invite you to preview the way pictures can be organized: https://www.forever.com/app/users/f-watkins/albums/2019-trip-of-a-lifetime–1.
Yes, I have a lot more to do. It takes a lot of time to go thru 4,700 pictures. But if I spend an average of 15 minutes a day on this project, I will capture and protect my files until I have time to complete the Printed Photo Book. Best of all, we can invite family to see the pictures now. And I can create a PDF of my journal and upload it to the storage, too.
The good news is, FOREVER guarantees that those files will be there for my lifetime plus 100 years. There for future generations to share and enjoy. Here’s a link to the guarantee: https://www.forever.com/guarantee
In the weeks ahead, I will make a digital scrapbook that will include my journal of the trip. Actually, the above are pages from the scrapbook I have started. It will take several hours to complete the final product because I like to design my own pages. However, there is an on-line version that has designed pages making it quick and easy to complete a book. You can check that out when you create your own free account.
This site gives us a lot of flexibility. Some people store their medical records in a private folder so they can access them anytime. That would have been handy last week when we found ourselves at the Urgent Care without the list of medications. This task needs to get done, ASAP.
