This weekend our family attended The Compassionate Friends National Conference, virtually of course. The Conference brings together parents, grandparents and siblings of those children gone too soon. The Compassionate Friends organization supports parents, grandparents and siblings who lost a loved one. Unfortunately, we belong in that category!
I presented “Keeping Our Child’s Memory Alive!” I admit that I have struggled with losing James to cancer. Blood cancer has been a part of my family before…my Uncle Verne (mother’s brother) had Leukemia. I kind of remember one or two others in our family that had Leukemia when I was a child and too young to grasp exactly what that meant.
I know a lot of families have lost children and struggle with the hole in your heart. I fear 2020 will be a record setting year for those losses. Last year, I decided to bring what I love and what has helped me…to help others in grief.
I created Heritage-Memories to help others learn how to organize, store and share their family photos and memorabilia. So their Child, Grandchild or Sibling will not be forgotten.
