Recently, my husband, Jim & I attended a local chapter meeting of The Compassionate Friends (https://www.compassionatefriends.org/), a world-wide organization that provides friendship, understanding and hope to parents, grandparents and siblings who have lost children. During the discussion, one person said; “I don’t know what I would do if I lost my pictures in a tornado!”
Our area recently had a devastating tornado where many people experienced loss of pictures, memorabilia and antiques that made up their family history. I was impressed when a local high school graphic design group offered to restore photos damaged in the storm.
I can’t imagine taking a chance with our precious pictures, school papers and videos. When bereaved parents experience this type of loss, it is like losing our child all over again.
So how can we protect ourselves against this type of loss BEFORE it happens?
Do you realize that most online services do not guarantee that your files will not be damaged or removed? Some state in their terms that they will delete your account when you pass! Some claim copyright to your photos copied to their servers. Here’s an article about choosing photo storage: https://blog.forever.com/forever-blog/choosing-the-right-photo-storage-repost
The pictures, documents, videos and audio files in FOREVER storage can be shared with family and friends only. Or parts can be shared with the world — Your choice! Don’t worry about those beautiful paper photo albums your mother made; have them scanned and added to your FOREVER storage account to share with family members and preserve them FOREVER.
My main reason for choosing FOREVER is it is the world’s first permanent online digital storage that is backed up with a FOREVER Guarantee Fund. It guarantees our photos, document, videos and audio files are stored for our lifetime plus 100 years. You retain digital rights to your pictures and own your own storage space.
Which backup service is the right one for you? How can you save these precious memories? Permanently?
My goal is to help people find a solution that works for them!
